Transitional Arrangements for Pupils with SEND

• Smooth transition is prioritised when children move into new settings.
• Reception starters receive enhanced induction with extra visits, meetings, and information sharing from previous settings. The SENDCo may also visit settings or carry out home visits. 
• Pupils joining later can discuss needs with the school prior to starting. 
• Robust transition programmes take place with local secondary schools, including additional visits for SEND pupils and strong handover processes. 
• Within school, summer‑term transition meetings ensure information sharing between class teachers. Pupils also meet new teachers and visit their new classrooms.
